In 1998, Joe Arington bought 20-acres of land in Cambridge WI. Turning dreams into reality, Joe started Arington Tree Farm, a family owned and operated business which would eventually grow into a 600-acre venture focused on conservation and sustainability. The farm is diverse in landscape; featuring ponds, forests, meadows, an abundance of wildlife, farm animals, and many tree species including: walnut, oak, hickory, cherry, spruce, ash and pine.
While keeping in mind the core beliefs of conservation and sustainability, Arington Tree Farm had trees on the property which needed to be removed in order to follow their land management plan. These trees were primarily damaged due to disease or environmental issues. It was felt these trees still had a purposed other than becoming firewood, chip or sent off to the landfill. The mutual love for the wood, beauty and history behind each log gave birth to the Wood Station Co-Op. Over the years we’ve grown, exploring and adding new services. Our Mission at the Wood Station Co-Op is to offer quality custom slabs, dimensional wood, kiln drying services along with custom live edge & rustic furniture. We are not the largest wood business in SE Wisconsin, but we take pride in what we do and what we can offer each client.
